Parlando - Ortiz, Brahms, and Chaves

  • New England Conservatory - Brown Hall 290 Huntington Avenue Boston, MA, 02115 United States (map)

Our 14th season in Boston —Parlando — weaves together three threads that all have to do with the stories we tell…in music. Each concert:

  • has been curated by one of MFF’s beloved friends

  • features a world premiere for viola, composed and performed by NEC students

  • centers a work that integrates spoken word

Curated by brilliant soprano Lucy Fitz Gibbon, this program features Pablo Ortiz’s Garden Songs, Brahms’ “Magelone” song cycle, Op. 33, and a world premiere for viola by Ethan Chaves. Our generous artists include Lucy Fitz-Gibbon, Ryan MacEvoy McCullough, Kim Kashkashian, Julian Rhee, Leland Ko, and Luther Warren. Don’t miss a word or a note this season!

As with all MFF concerts, admission is free with a suggested donation ($40/adult, $15/student), not tickets or RSVPs are necessary, and ALL proceeds will go to a local food pantry. The Boston core concerts this year support Women’s Lunch Place.
